3 Timeless Designer Bags To Own
Those that happened to stop by our #sosodailyfleamarket at the office in Vienna this past Thursday, or have been shopping my closet via Instagram, may have noticed that I have drastically cleaned out my closet, including a lot of designer pieces that I spent a lot of money on at one point. Why? Because I am determined to declutter/organize my life, home and work this year. Remember my personal goals for 2018?

declutter: I love our apartment, but I haven’t really been happy here for the past year. That’s because there is so much stuff everywhere! The space is not small but it is definitely not big. For a while I was desperately looking for a new home, instead of simply tackling the problem by it’s root. I need to declutter. Big time!
And because I have realized that a few timeless pieces can go a long way… Which brings me to today’s post: 3 timeless designer bags to own (and worth splurging on).
While cleaning out my closet last week, I found it surprisingly (actually, shockingly) easy to say good-bye to a few of my bags. Shockingly? Yes! Because I consider myself to be a “smart” shopper. I love to take advantage of sales and usually don’t just spend my money randomly, but on things I am 100% convinced that I will love for a long time. Or so I thought. Turns out that love and lifetime are not always the same. Even though I absolutely loved every single designer bag I owned at some point – or still do – I realized that quite a few of them are definitely not timeless. So what are my personal top 3 timeless designer bags?
- Chanel Classic Flap Bag: I think it is safe to say, that the flap bag by Chanel is an icon in the bag world. It has been around for many years and I can’t imagine it ever not being a desired bag. Especially in a timeless black, it is suitable for all occasions. No matter if you are looking to wear it with jeans and an oversized sweater or out to dinner – it is elegant, cool, goes with everything and comes in various sizes. I personally have the medium flap in lambskin with silver hardware.
- Fendi Peek-A-Boo: This one is not a bag I own (yet), but currently comes in first place on my wishlist. Personally, the shape reminds me a bit of the Hermes Kelly bag. I love the boxy look, shorter top-handle and option of dressing up the bag with an eye-catching strap. Even though the bag has only been around for 10 years (first released in 2008) the tote is praised for both its function and sophistication – practical and elegant. In terms of color, I love the black but would personally go for a beige/off-white or taupe.
- Louis Vuitton Noé Bucket Bag: “the Noé is the second oldest Louis Vuitton bag. Its birth date of 1932 places itself at the start of an exceptional decade that saw the creation of other Louis Vuitton icons: the Speedy, the Alma and the Keepall.”
Designed to hold 5 bottles of champagne (love!), this bucket bag has been around for many years, long before black bucket bags became a thing! I was lucky enough to score my Noé second hand a few years ago. Not only was it a steal in terms of price, but turns out, the bag was actually made in France in 1995. A real vintage gem!

oh ja es gibt wirklich taschen die einfach zeitlos sind u da gehört deine Chanel auf alle fälle dazu! ich hätte statt der LV Noé Bucket Bag jedoch die Neverfull aufgezählt – ich persönlich finde sie ist ein absoluter Klassiker unter den Taschen 🙂
Obwohl ich die Noé auch wunderschön finde u dann noch wie deins ein Vintage Modell ist 🙂

Ein super Beitrag! Ich habe tatsächlich keine Designertasche, aber meine absolute Traumtasche ist die Chloe Faye!!! Würde ich sofort nehmen, hehe. 🙂

Das ist mMn auch eine Tasche mit der man unheimlich lange eine Freude hat. Sie ist schön schlicht, praktisch und wirklich hochwertig! Meinen kleinen Faye Rucksack liebe ich auch total und freu mich auf Reisen jedes Mal wieder darüber 🙂

Or so I thought. Dieser Satz ist soo ehrlich und hat mich jetzt richtig amüsiert.
Mode ist vergänglich, Trends kommen und gehen. Es ist ok. Dinge zu kaufen, die nicht für die Ewigkeit gedacht sind…und es ist auch sehr schön, wenn einen Dinge über eine sehr lange Zeit begleiten.
Das stimmt 🙂 Ich mache eigentlich selten Fehlkäufe und würde die Taschen, die ich jetzt verkaufe auch nicht als solche bezeichnen. Allerdings sind es doch Modelle, die man irgendwann “gesehen” hat. Die Taschen an sich gefallen mir immer noch super, allerdings hab ich mich daran für meine eigenen Looks sattgesehen – time to find a new home!

Das finde ich wirklich einen hilfreichen Beitrag! Wenn man sich ein bisschen von Influencern wie euch inspirieren lässt, ist es irgendwann schwierig, heraus zu filtern, was ihr wirklich lange tragt und schätzt. Ich liebäugle seit du sie hast mit deiner Valentino Medium Lock Bag. Ich fand sie immer so eine tolle Ergänzung zu einer klassischen schwarzen Tasche, vor allem im Sommer. Wie stehst du zu der mittlerweile? 🙂

Liebe Vanessa,
ich glaube die Valentino werde ich NIE verkaufen 🙂 Ich weiß nicht ob man das selbst so sagen darf, aber es ist eine echte “Vicky Tasche”. Ich hab diese Tasche in dieser Farbe über Monate hinweg gesucht & zu Tode getragen. Ich finde sie nach wie vor toll und trage sie immer wieder gerne, allerdings nicht mehr jeden Tag wie früher. Und das Poudre (p45 ist die offizielle Farbe) ist wirklich super neutral und passt zu allem. Die Tasche kann ich wirklich jedem empfehlen & bin mir sicher, du würdest eine unheimlich große Freude damit haben! Die Größe ist übrigens sehr ähnlich wie die Chanel medium flap und auch praktisch für den Alltag 🙂

Ein super lesenswerter Beitrag liebe Vicky – die Louis Vuitton Noé besitze ich auch und mag die Tasche super super gerne. Eine wahre Traumtasche für mich ist die Chanel Boy Bag – an der Boy gefällt mir einfach der rockige Touch total gut.
