Redone.

Would you believe me, if I told you that I didn’t shop at all (!) during our trip to NYC? Nada! Nothing! Actually, I bought a pair of headphones and stocked up on my favorite serum, but when it comes to fashion, I didn’t even feel the need to go into any stores this time around. Why? Because the times during which New York used to be my shopping mecca with loads of brands that were unavailable in Europe (let alone Austria) are definitely over. In the past, I would make endless wishlists for brands like Anine Bing, Alice + Olivia, or RE/DONE prior to a trip to the United States. Now, however, with the launch of online stores like Breuninger in Austria, all of those brands are just a mouse click away. And let’s face it, I would much rather spend 4 days in NYC strolling the streets and sipping on iced matcha lattes with Mike, than trying on stuff in changing rooms!

Now Shipping to Austria…

Breuninger and I go way back. Those that read my “ask me anything” post from last week, will know that I was born in Stuttgart and still have my grandparents there. If you have ever been to Stuttgart, you are probably aware of the fact that Breuninger is no.1 shopping destination in town (and has been since 1881). Not only does the department store have anything from a huge shoe selection, all of the major beauty brands and clothes for the entire family, but it is also home to many designer brand like Chloé, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Prada or Saint Laurent.

Inspired by a mix of New York City and upcoming fall fashion, today’s outfit is a typical “Vicky Look” – if I dare say so myself. I like to consider denim my thing. In an interview, I was recently asked if I preferred pants/jeans or dresses. Without having to think even one second, the answer was jeans. I have been loving dresses for these hot summer days lately, but nothing feels as true to my style as a good pair of jeans. And by good, I mean really good! Not without reason has the brand RE/DONE become so hyped. The jeans fit. Easy as that! I wanted to add a pair of theirs to my collection forever, and thanks to Breuninger.at I finally found my match. Paired with pointy black heels (can we please talk about that bow??), a white blouse with a twist and my favorite Chloé backpack, it is one of those looks that I could probably wear for the rest of my life! Drama aside, I think nothing will ever be able to compete with a modern take on true classics like blue jeans, black pumps or white blouses – who’s with me?

  • Travel Diary: Austria through the eyes of Mr. Bond

As of yesterday, Mr. Bond has officially conquered the movie theaters in Austria with his new movie “Spectre”. I have always loved the gadgets, perfect suits, the stunning women and the action. BUT I also love the James Bond movies for a different reason: The travels and locations. In Casino Royale I was enchanted by Venice, in Skyfall the Scottish countryside was mystical, impressive and scary all at the same time. This time around, Austria played a major role in the movie (18 minutes).

  • a glimpse of Christmas.

I don’t know about you, but this year it has been a bit harder than usual to get into the holiday spirit. With temperatures above 20°C in November and no sight of snow, I can barely believe that Christmas is barely 2 weeks away. Luckily, that all changed on the first Advent weekend…

This past weekend we were lucky, since Friday was a holiday in Austria (All Hallows) and so we had 3 full days of weekend-bliss. I’ve been feeling a little tired lately, so a few days off were exactly what I needed! Mike and I went to the movies twice (“Rush” was AMAZING, “Bad Grandpa” was…

  • OUTFIT: lace midi skirt

Last year I started wearing dresses more during the warmer season, and this Summer I have made it my mission to venture out of my comfort zone a bit and try to incorporate skirts into my outfits every now and then. • OUTFIT: fête blanche

This past weekend, we spent two days by the wonderful Lake Wörthersee. It is one of my favorite mini-vacation-spots in Austria and always so relaxing. This time, the Fête Blanche was the reason for our visit. Obviously the dresscode was white, so I bought this dress a few weeks ago. I shot this look on Friday before…

  • OUTFIT: a turtleneck.

Personally, I never pictured myself as the turtleneck-wearing-girl, but it turns out there is a perfect fit for everyone. I love the chunky knit version, especially combined with a leather jacket on a sunny day. As someone who often forgets to put on a scarf before leaving the house…
