travel plans for 2017 (so far).
Sundays are usually for my cravings, but in all honesty there is not much I am craving right now. I just got to spend 10 days with my family over the holidays and got spoiled under the Christmas tree. We woke up to lots of snow here today in Vienna and while I am usually not much of a Winter person, I did get a tiny bit excited about the snow this year! Last night we went sledding with friends and hat dinner in a cute mountain hut afterwards – almost felt like a mini Winter vacation! Which brings me to today’s post.
The year is only a week old, but I already have lots of fun travel plans for the first 6 months of 2017. A few of the trips are work related, but a surprising big amount is personal, which has me extra excited. That’s why I wanted to share an overview of my travel plans for the upcoming months with you guys today.
Berlin Fashion Week (January): Of course, I can’t skip fashion week in Berlin. This year, I’ll be there for the entire week. Can’t wait to see lots of shows and of course see my sister, who moved to Berlin back in August.
Altenbach Stadl (January): Right after Fashion Week, Mike and I are heading to South Styria straight from the airport. I booked a weekend in the Altenbach Stadl by PURESLeben weeks ago and am so excited for some downtime in the middle of nature! Fireplace, sauna, winter wonderland, … need I say more?
Mauritius (February): Originally, the plan was to spend NYE in a plane heading to Thailand with some of our closest friends. Unfortunately, I am not willing to pay 1.600€ for an economy ticket to Bangkok. Prices are always insane over the holidays and we kept getting more and more frustrated while planing the trip. At one point, it felt way too forced (and too expensive), so we decided to postpone for a month. Thailand turned into Mauritius and I am literally counting the days already! Funny enough, Kathi and I were in Mauritius the exact same week last year.
Marrakech (March): Girls trip! My mom and sister have been planning a trip to Marrakech since last Summer and I decided to join them. Just booked my ticket last week! I’ve been to Marrakech twice, but both trips were work-related, so I can’t wait to have 5 days there on our own time. Plus, there is still a lot I haven’t seen and I absolutely loved Marrakech the first two times, so I can’t wait to be back!
Yoga Retreat (April): The first week of April, Kathi and I are off to a 3-day yoga retreat for work. Definitely my favorite kind of work!
Dallas (April): This one is still a bit of a question mark. The annual RewardStyle Conference always takes place in Dallas in April. It is a far trip for just 4 days, but has been so much fun the past few years, so I think I’ll probably fly out to join the fun again this year.
California (May): One of my best friends from high school is getting married (yay!!) and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Mike and I are booking our tickets this weekend and if things go my way this will turn into a 2-week long trip with Palm Springs, L.A., Las Vegas and wine country on the agenda. Fingers crossed!
Ibiza (June): Just imagine 12 girls in Ibiza. It is happening in June and I can’t wait to celebrate a very special bride-to-be there!
With all of these amazing travels to look forward to, I am literally not craving a thing right now – except maybe some sunshine and 25°C. But Mauritius is coming up quickly, so I think we’ll be able to soak up some vitamin D in less than a month! Aside from all of these trips, I am also trying my best to plan a visit to Australia. My brother is currently stationed there for work and the way it looks at the moment he won’t be back before the end of the year. I can’t NOT visit him, right? Australia is definitely one of those bucketlist destinations for me.
