OUTFIT: weekend wear

This past weekend we were lucky, since Friday was a holiday in Austria (All Hallows) and so we had 3 full days of weekend-bliss. I’ve been feeling a little tired lately, so a few days off were exactly what I needed! Mike and I went to the movies twice (“Rush” was AMAZING, “Bad Grandpa” was funny, but nothing you can’t watch on DVD), had super late breakfasts at home, cleaned out our storage room and had a much needed date night at our favorite restaurant. On Saturday, I had the girls over for a bit of kitchen fun, as we tackled our first batch of homemade churros (be sure to check out The Daily Dose for the recipe tomorrow). All in all, it was a perfect weekend and I actually felt somewhat ready for Monday by the time the alarm went off yesterday morning.

  • OUTFIT: a summery dress

I am not what you may consider the dress-wearing type. Don’t get me wrong, I love dresses, but I simply feel more comfortable in pants most of the time. However, as Summer rolls around, there is basically no way around light and airy dresses to get by during the heat. So slowly, but surely, I…

  • shades of autumn

A tone-in-tone color scheme is my personal way out of a rushed morning with “nothing to wear”. It works in all sorts of directions. Go with all black for a darker look that can easily be dressed up (a la “just add heels and red lips”) or with hues of beige or camel with golden…

  • OUTFIT: welcoming 2 0 1 3

Do you guys remember the sequin H&M skirt I wrote about back in September? Well, all this time I was saving it for the right occasion, and what better time to wear it than for NYE? Those that follow me on Instagram (@vickyheiler) were able to see the different options I had planned ahead of…

  • What’s My Scent?

When it comes to perfume, I am picky beyond means. I blame it on my super sensitive sense of smell. The problem is not that I simply don’t appreciate certain perfumes. The problem is they actually make me nauseous to the point where I get a headache and have to leave the room instantly. Drama…

  • Cocktail Attire 101

Here’s a confession: Any time I receive an invite that calls for “cocktail attire” I get slightly nervous. My style is usually fairly casual and I definitely wear pants almost 100% of the time. A skirt or dress is such a rare occasion for me, that I find it harder to style those looks. Even…

  1. I really like your coat, it looks lovely and the scarf fits so well against the black fur!!! I’m currently saving up money to get a LV bag, is that one practical? I currently wear a Longchamp Le Pliage and it’s really handy to have a big bag where my camera and suc fit, but I wanted to invest in a better quality one and was curious about the one you have..hope you don’t mind my question =P
I’m really excited for the churros recipe and can’t wait for tomorrow =D

  2. Hi Vicky,
that does indeed sound like a perfect weekend! I am desperately in need of one like that 🙂
Your outfit looks so cozy and at the same time elegant because of the necklace and the fur coat – I love how you combine different styles and thereby create your own one! <3
Oh, I have to admit I am bit jealous cause apperantly the temperatures in austria still allow you to wear loafers – living in Hamburg I am prepared to jump into my ugg boots any time, because it is so cold already…

      1. Hey Vicky,

danke die für den Link. Bin am hin und her überlegen… Kannst du etwas bezüglich der Steuern bzw. Zollgebühren sagen? Kommen da noch welche hinzu?

        Danke:)

    Mach weiter so, Vicky! <3

  7. Hey Vicky! I’ve been reading your blog for ages now just wanted to say how much I love it! Two questions, where did you get your coat? Did you buy it online or is there a store in Austria/Germany? Also maybe if you could do a post about your favourite things in Munich, I know you used to live there.
