denim must-have: tapered & bleached.
I am currently going through a serious denim phase that mostly revolves around mom jeans of some sort. While Winter was all about darker hues of blue, gray and black jeans, I am currently obsessing over bleached denim pieces. The lighter bleached color is perfect for warmer days and looks great with a simple white shirt or striped, slightly oversize shirt and my new Gucci slippers. Add a leather jacket to the mix and you’ll kind of feel like James Dean circa 1950. Simple but always in style!
Amidst my denim craze, I just noticed that I most likely have a problem, considering I own almost 2 of the exact same pairs of tapered bleached denim mom jeans. Luckily for you guys however, I can now give you pointers on which ones to get. I have spent a good amount of time (and money) on the hunt for the perfect pair of mom jeans and ended up finding not only one pair but actually 3. Thank me later!
So, the question is, do you want the steal or do you want to splurge on bleached denim? I have a pair of Topshop tapered jeans for 54€ (I wear a size 28/30) and a pair of the super popular Liya mom jeans by Citizens of Humanity (mine are size 27) that come in at over 300€ for the premium denim. Both fit like a gem and are super similar. The only difference is that the Topshop moto jeans have a rip by the knee and the COH are not destroyed, which is a very welcome change for my usual choice of jeans.
The denim of the Liya mom jeans is a better quality, you can tell by the way it feels, but I have to admit I love them both and have been taking turns wearing them. So no matter which budget you are on, you’ll love these two. Tried and tested!
