TRAVEL: Bahia Palace Marrakech

I can’t wait to share some content from New York City with you guys later on this week, but before I do so, I still have a few Marrakech memories to post. One of my favorite sightseeing-stops was the Bahia Palace (Palais Bahia). A beautiful place that is located in the medina of Marrakech along the northern edge of the district Mellah or Jewish quarter.

The exact year it was built is unknown, but it was completed in 1900 and has been kept up beautifully since. As the name “bahia” (= brilliance) suggests, it really is stunning! The intricate woodwork, colorful tiles and gorgeous gardens are definitely worth a visit – especially considering the entrance fee was only 10dh which equals about 1€.

The only thing I was missing was a bit of background information on sight. You should read up before, after, or simply walk through the Bahia Palace and be inspired. Either way, it was a beautiful stop and I would definitely suggest going there when you visit Marrakech!
