Cocktail Attire 101

Here’s a confession: Any time I receive an invite that calls for “cocktail attire” I get slightly nervous. My style is usually fairly casual and I definitely wear pants almost 100% of the time. A skirt or dress is such a rare occasion for me, that I find it harder to style those looks. Even though I loved your reaction to this post, I feel like pants simply flatter my figure more, because I can pair them with a flowy blouse to cover my hips. None-the-less, I still love the idea of a classy cocktail dress. So it is just about finding that perfect fit, and then also knowing the right tricks to feel the most comfortable in a hip-hugging dress. I know some of you will call me crazy for wearing shapewear, but in all honesty, I don’t think shapewear is only for women who try to look slimmer. It is about feeling the most comfortable and looking your best. Because let’s be honest, who doesn’t prefer to have a flat tummy and lifted butt? Plus, the shapewear by Triumph is so pretty, you kind of want it just because of the pretty lace!

  • OUTFIT: cardigan vs. coat

It is November and instead of snow, we had 20°C today. A few weeks ago, the folk saying was leaning towards an incredibly harsh Winter and lots of snow, but with the way things are currently going, I think we’re in store for a milder season. While I do prefer the surroundings to be covered in white snow for Christmas in the mountains with my parents, I am definitely not complaining about the fact that it currently feels like Spring. I wore …

  • OUTFIT: the perfect cardigan

This Fall I had quite a few items on my shopping list, amongst them an extra long cardigan. After a long search, I finally found the perfect cardigan at HALLHUBER this weekend while Kathi and I were at their opening event for the new flagship store on Kärnterstraße. We were there to work, but naturally…

  1. Shape wear really is the way to go if you don’t feel well in a tight dress. They just get slightly uncomfortable once you’ve had too much food, believe me,I’ve been there and it wasn’t fun 🙂
Either way I would really love to see you wearing this outfit,I’m sure it looks lovely on you.

  2. Das Kleid sieht toll aus. Schade, dass du es nicht angezogen hast. Du hast eine Bombenfigur und es gibt nichts, was du verstecken müsstest. Zumindest was man von den Fotos her sehen kann. 🙂

      1. Liebe Vicky,

Danke dir für den Link. Konnte mich gar nicht mehr dran erinnern, dabei hab ich den Artikel seinerzeit sogar gelesen. 😀 Steht dir wirklich ganz wunderbar das Kleid!

        Liebe Grüße
