10-Minute Salon Blowout At Home, Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer Review | Bikinis & Passports

My 10-Minute Salon Blowout at Home

Aside from my daily make-up routine, the way I style my hair has been the most requested tutorial for months, if not years. While I have always taken great pride in caring for my hair, I have recently entered a whole new world of hair care when I started using the Dyson Supersonic back in December. Or as I like to think of it: the Ferrari of hair dryers!

With a slight obsession for good hair tools (mostly dryers), it took me all of 5 seconds (actually, make that a week) to fall hard for the Supersonic. My expectations were high, especially since my best friend had been using it for months and couldn’t stop raving about it, but I didn’t really think it could be THAT much better than my old dryer. After all, it was powerful, super hot, allowed me to fully dry my long hair in under 30 minutes and cost less than 50€. That’s a tough one to beat. Or so I thought…

10-Minute Salon Blowout At Home, Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer Review | Bikinis & Passports

“Hair dryers can be bulky and difficult to manoeuvre, can blast air at high temperatures, which can cause extreme heat damage, all with the risk of hair being sucked into and trapped in the filter. Dyson engineers set out to rethink the hair dryer.”

Turns out that powerful and heat is good, but only in the right dose. Some conventional hair dryers can reach extreme temperatures, especially when held close to your head. This can cause extreme heat damage to your hair. The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer has intelligent heat control, helping to ensure hair isn’t exposed to excessive temperatures. This was the part that took me the longest to get used to. It wasn’t as hot as the dryer I was used to, so how come it still cut my drying time in half? Well, when you invest £50 million into development, like Dyson did, you will probably find a way to dry hair faster, healthier and shinier. Which is why my hair drying ritual has turned from an half hour affaire to a 10-minute salon blowout at home.

To show you how I style my hair and that it really only takes 12 minutes from beginning to end (the timer on the bottom left corner is proof), I finally filmed my personal hair drying routine to share with you today.

Curious to try the Dyson Supersonic yourself? Then don’t miss today’s giveaway over on The Daily Dose. Instead of red roses, we are giving one lucky reader a red Valentine’s edition of our favorite hot tool in the bathroom. Because let’s be honest, a good hair day is so much better than flowers, right?
