Spring Trends 2020: Ice Cream Shades - Bikinis & Passports

Spring Fling: 5 trends I am loving this season

While fashion month is wrapping up in Paris this week, there are many new trends on the horizon to be inspired by. I am usually not big on trends since I believe in building a timeless, versatile wardrobe that can easily adapt to current trends without looking like you are trying too hard. I will pick up a trend here and there, but overall, I think it is much more valuable to invest in a style that is not defined by seasons. Having said that, a handful of trends have caught my attention and snuck their way into my recent looks.

These easy-to-attain Spring/Summer trends 2020 are worth taking a closer look at, if you ask me:

  • vanilla ice cream: shades of beige and (yellow) pastels to match, all wrapped up in one big ice cream cone

  • smart blazers, that look like you stole them from your guy. oversized styles, structured cuts and big shoulders are key when investing in blazers right now

  • micro bags: while Bottega is bringing back the motto of “the bigger, the better”, I am still not over the 2019 trend of mini bags – especially when they are vintage

  • dressed down: dresses worn over jeans are not only a trend to try this season, but also a perfect way to recycle wardrobe favorites, wear your summer dresses for transitional season and re-invent the way you style a feminine piece – not to mention that polka dots are making a comeback as a SS20 trend!

  • (double) sweater weather is the best excuse to leave your warm coats at home and opt for a second sweater instead, which can be worn over blazers, denim jackets or simply layered with other knit pieces to keep your warm

October in Vienna is that awkward time of the year where the mornings are soaked in cold, wet fog and the afternoons are drenched in sunlight and warmth. Let’s face it, our motivation to get dressed in the morning has seen better days than in 2020. After weeks of lockdown and self-quarantine, chances are we have gotten a little too used to wearing sweats 24/7. Even though I am guilty of rocking my yoga tights long after the workout has ended, I am…

It rarely happens to me, but sometimes I shoot an outfit and totally forget to share it with you. As you can easily tell from my hair color (3 weeks ago, when balayage was a thing) today’s look is one from the category of “the forgotten”. Since a camel coat and shades of gray can…

I think it is safe to say that I am a denim girl. I love jeans and hardly ever wear anything else. It is probably also the reason why Aimee Song is my personal all-time-favorite blogger. Aside from creating inspiring content on a super regular basis, she also rocks that California denim style but never…

“Beautiful, big white blossoms on dry cactuses” – a perfect way of describing the magic of a wedding that took place in the middle of the California desert last Wednesday. In Joshua Tree National Park, to be exact. To see so much beauty, so many emotions and most importantly, so much love come together and…

I’ll take Paris any day – even if it is just for 15 hours en route to the next destination. And even more so when the sun is out and I get to spend the night in one of my favorite corners of the city. Already up in the air again (Corsica, coming for you!),…
