RECIPE: banana milkshake with chocolate chips

I am not the biggest fan of bananas – I would much rather eat an apple on the go and I always pick them out of fruit salads. BUT when it comes to smoothies and milkshakes I am all for the yellow thing! This past Sunday I was craving something sweet and while I was on the hunt for chocolate I came across 2 overly ripe bananas in the kitchen. So I decided to make use of them and make a semi-healthy, sweet and filling snack: banana milkshakes! It is a bit extravagant to even call this a “recipe”, since I am sure you all know how to make milkshakes and all I did was throw together 3 ingredients (4 if you count the ice …). But for inspirational purposes I still wanted to share the “recipe” with you guys.

What you’ll need:

– 2 ripe bananas

– 500 ml milk (I used low fat)

– chocolate (I used 70% cacao) or chocolate chips

– a hand full of ice cubes (or vanilla ice cream for a “heavier” version)

**makes 2 servings

If you’re using regular chocolate, pre-chop the pieces a bit so the blender wont have to do so much work. Then throw everything in the blender for 1-2 minutes, until a smooth and foamy mixture is ready. Serve with some chopped chocolate or fresh mint on top – perfection for a sunny afternoon! Enjoy ♥
