OUTFIT: Casino Royale

For the first evening of our James Bond trip, we all got to choose amazing outfits from Peek & Cloppenburg to ensure that we were dressed the part. After all, we’re talking James Bond – keyword: Tom Ford suits en masse. The dress I ended up choosing was literally love at first sight. I saw it hanging at the P&C store Kärntner Straße and knew I wanted it. I have a fairly small waist and curvy hips, so I love anything that pulls the attention towards the waist. Plus, the length was such a different take on evening wear and I love the fact that it actually shows of the shoes. In my mind I was already styling the look, when the lady at the store kindly told me that unfortunately my size was no longer available and the next size up was already reserved for someone else. Typical, I thought! However, instead of throwing a fit (#firstworldproblems), I decided to give karma a chance and hoped that the reserved dress wouldn’t be picked up. Positive vibes all the way, I guess the lady didn’t want the dress as much as I did. Even though it was a size up from what I usually wear, it was nothing the tailor couldn’t fix. Happy end!

Fun fact: On the actual day that I wore this look, we didn’t have time to shoot the dress. No problem, Kathi and I thought, and casually took the dresses to Abu Dhabi with us, where these photos were taken. It is definitely a normal thing to pack evening gowns for 2 days in the desert … not! But at least now I have the photos to share the entire look with you guys!

My personal uniform goes a little something like this: black skinny jeans, a silky top, a pretty blazer and a touch of animal print. Depending on the day’s agenda I’ll either grab loafers, sneakers or a pair of heels. The pieces from today’s outfit were love at first sight and so “me”! By now, I…

  • OUTFIT: sunshine & sequins

Even though Abu Dhabi is a place with hot weather and plenty of pools, it is also a city with traditions. Dubai is definitely more liberal (from what I can tell), and in Abu Dhabi we also saw a lot more locals around the hotels and restaurants. Hence, I tried to dress appropriately for the weather…

…with my new bag from Monnier Freres ♥ If you’re on Instagram, chance are you’ve already spotted the newest addition to my bag collection. The Jimmy Choo Lockett petite bag in black with gold hardware. It was a Christmas present “to me, from me” and will probably be my favorite bag of 2016 – at least as far as the first month goes, who knows what the rest of the year has in store for my closet.

  • OUTFIT: wearing madrid

The Birkenstock discussion is one that definitely polarizes, but I have officially joined team comfort and ordered my first pair of “Madrid” Birkenstocks a few weeks ago. I’ve mostly been wearing them around the neighborhood to run errands (SO comfortable), but also started wearing them more and more with my daily looks. I guess once you go…

  • OUTFIT: unexpected lovers.

Sometimes, I find certain pieces of clothing that I instantly feel drawn to. Usually these are pieces that most others wouldn’t even give a second glance. Just like the yellow faux fur scarf (first seen here). I spotted it at the Marc Cain showroom during a fitting. It was love at first sight. And the…
