OUTFIT: black shopper tote

Occasionally, I like to splurge on a bag (or nice pair of shoes). Personally, I don’t mind spending a lot of money on something if I know I’ll absolutely love it and get a lot of wear out of it. Take my Valentino medium lock bag, for example. I basically wear is every. single. day. Yes, it costs a lot, but if you break it down to the cost-per-wear, I am probably already at 5€ right now – and I don’t plan to stop wearing it anytime soon. What it comes down to, is that my items have to be versatile. I love designer pieces, but I also want to be able to wear them all the time. Recently, I’ve noticed that my Neverfull hasn’t really worked with some of my oufits – I just felt like the monogram print was a bit too much. I’ve been searching for a sleeker alternative for a while, especially for the office and traveling. I almost couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw that the much coveted Mansur Gavriel black shopper tote (with the prettiest nude / blush lining) was back in stock at Farfetch just before Christmas. 3, 2, 1, miiiiine ♥

Travel Buddy: A great shopper tote is perfect as a carry-on for traveling. I stuffed mine with my favorite magazines, in-flight beauty essentials and my pillow for the 10hr flight to Vancouver on Monday. When traveling, I always make sure I wear good materials, so for my outfit I choose my favorite striped shirt, a cashmere sweater and a cape to double function as a blanket.

However, the shopper tote isn’t only great for traveling, it is also perfect for the rest of the trip.Shopping downtown? Yes, please! A day at the beach? Perfect! The bag has enough room to carry everything from your favorite sunscreen and book for the beach to a big DSLR camera, city map and the “just in case” umbrella, while keeping your valuables safe from pickpockets in the smaller bag attached to the strap. Or if you’re just running out for coffee, the pouch works as a clutch. Plus, I already know this will be my go-to bag for the office because it fits my laptop and the black goes with everything. So expect to see a lot more of this one in 2016!
