Coming home

I have had this song stuck in my head all day: “Driving home for Christmas…” ♪ Anyone with me on that one today? I think most of you are probably heading home to your families today or tomorrow and I can’t wait to be home in the mountains later on tonight. Even though I get excited about Christmas ever year, this one is extra special. My brother has been working in Australia for over a year and my sister went to join him down under in October. I was used to having both of them around me here in Vienna for the past 5 years or so, which is why it has been a bit of an emotional struggle for me not seeing them all the time. We got to catch up on some much needed family time during our trip in November, but unfortunately Mike was unable to join us, so tomorrow morning at breakfast will be the first time since August that all 6 of us will be sitting at a table together. I could cry of happiness just at the thought of it. I guess that’s what Christmas is all about!

While I will spend the afternoon putting bows on the last few presents and packing my bags, I hope you are all feeling festive AF already. If not, head into Vienna and walk by the stunning trees outside of Café Mozart in the 1st district – which is where these pictures were taken!
