HEALTHY LIVING: my 50-minute workout

It’s been a while since I last shared some of my workouts with you, so I wanted to give you a little update. Recently I’ve been running about 5-7km twice per week and have tried to hit the gym 1-2 times per week. Today was super rainy, so I decided to do a bit of interval training on the treadmill and work on my arms and abs. Personally, I feel that I can see the quickest results by combining high intensity interval training with weight training and some low intensity cardio training throughout the week. Here is what today’s 50-minute workout looked like:

– 25 minutes of interval training (treadmill)
– 4 arm exercises with 5kg weights, 2 sets each of 12-15 reps (seen HERE)
–  hamstring curls (seen HERE), 3 sets of 15-20 reps
– 15 min. ab exercises on the mat (leg lifts, side crunches, …)
– plank (seen HERE), 2 sets à 1:30 min. or 2:15 min. in one go
– 5 min. stretching on the mat

Wondering what 25-minute interval training looks like? This is the exact combination I went through today:

– 5 min. warm-up at 8km/h

– 1 min. sprinting at 12km/h
– 90 seconds jogging at 8.5km/h
– 1 min. sprinting at 12km/h
– 90 seconds jogging at 8.5km/h

– 1 min. sprinting at 13km/h
– 90 seconds jogging at 8.5km/h
– 1 min. sprinting at 13km/h
– 90 seconds jogging at 8.5km/h

– 1 min. sprinting at 14km/h
– 90 seconds jogging at 8.5km/h
– 1 min. sprinting at 14km/h
– 90 seconds jogging at 8.5km/h

– 5 min. cool-down walk at 5km/h

  • OUTFIT: black lace

You know what is always a good idea? Black lace! Especially during the holiday season. A while ago I found this dress via GIRISSIMA and it has been waiting for a fancy occasion ever since. Well, today I was tired of waiting and decided to give it a more casual twist with my favorite sweater…

As I already mentioned on Thursday, I had a quick trip to Frankfurt last week to attend the opening of the new Fossil flagship store. • OUTFIT: dressed down.

Packing for a 2-week long trip is never an easy task, especially if different climates and occasions await. As you guys know, we attended a wedding in California (which was the main reason for the trip), and the festivities also involved a rehearsal dinner. Meaning: My suitcase was filled with more dressy outfits than it…

  • OUTFIT: feels like Summer

Just last week, I remember going on my evening run and freezing my butt off. I was wearing a long-sleeve thermo top and a wind stopper jacket in sight. Today, however, it feels like Summer. 26°C and I left the house without a jacket. So good!! Unfortunately, it seems the magic will be gone by…

  1. Inspiring post, thanks for sharing that 🙂
Right now I’m trying to stick to some routine so I’m trying to workout every two or three days which means I’m going swimming, horseriding, when the weather is nice I’ll include some tennis and I combine it with the Nike Training Club workouts that I really enjoy doing alone at home (and I do all this just because I can’t get into running 😀 )
