FOR THE HOME: blue patterned rug

Like I mentioned before (ie. HERE) for the apartment we are currently living in I decided to take my time with decorating. After living together for almost 5 years, Mike and I have come to find our own style and are looking to invest into pieces we’ll have for years to come. So rushing into things was not an option and we wanted to spend our money well on things we absolutely love. I always knew a rug was missing in the living room to bring together the room and make it feel more cozy. The distance between our TV and sofa is close to 6 meters (almost 20 feet) and so the space felt a bit empty. Over the past few months I had been pinning lots of pretty patterned rugs onto my home inspo board and even asked for your help on Facebook. But most rugs I liked were either far out of our budget (who knew a rug could cost 4.800€ ?!) or didn’t ship to Austria. So to make a long story short: Today I finally found a rug I simply ADORE and ordered it!! Miss Kathi helped me decided on a color and I am SO happy with the blue patterned rug by Jill Rosenwald that will soon be a major focal point of our living room! My order was actually cancelled 2 weeks after placing it, due to not enough stock! But I found a similar rug (much prettier!!!) a fews weeks later – see it HERE!

Well, not yet – but hopefully some time soon. We are coming up on the one-year-anniversary of living in the “new” apartment. Funny I still call it that after eleven months, but our home still feels like a new blessing. None-the-less, eleven months has somehow not been enough time for me/us to get the whole…

  • FOR THE HOME: under the sun

Last weekend, when Mike was in Berlin for a boys trip, my mom came to visit in Vienna. We ran the 10km Frauenlauf together on Sunday and drove out to Tulln afterwards. Basically, Tulln is a big fat gardening paradise, with some amazing nurseries for everything your green thumb may desire (we went to Praskac because they…

  • FOR THE HOME: sweet dreams

When we decided to move into our new apartment 2 years ago, we also replaced most of our “student living” furniture (aka IKEA) and made a few investments, including our current bed. Admittedly, it did take a bit of persuasion on Mike’s part, because I simply didn’t get why anyone would spend the price of…

  3. a nice big rug makes all the difference in a space. Ive got to say, Im surprised you chose such a vibrant blue. I always imagined your home would be quite neutral and pop of colour in things that you can change out easily (like pillow cases and flowers!). Can`t wait to see what it looks like in your place!

    1. Hi Jill,

wow, thanks so much for stopping by my blog!!
I actually bought the rug through westwing, which is like One Kings Lane. Their based in Germany so I am only paying 33€ for shipping, which I think is acceptable for an 8×11 rug 😉
