to do: FITNESS.

I have a confession to make: I have been the biggest slacker in terms of fitness all summer long. Before the summer started I was eating healthy and working out 5-6 times a week, trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, the past months have been filled with missed work-outs, fastfood in America, grandma’s amazing home-cooked meals and way too much dessert. Especially during the past 5 weeks of my internship, I have rarely worked-out more than 1-2x a week.
Well, it’s all about to change!! As I was going through my daily reads today, I saw that Gabby started to detox. Although I can’t start right away since a big family weekend and my grandma’s 85th birthday is coming up, I want to get on it asap. I’ll be back in Vienna next week and that means back to the gym daily and eating lots of fruit and veggies. But since I found myself totally motivated and full of energy, I had an amazing work-out just now. Now all I need is for my motivation to last :)

like my red cheeks after working out?
Today’s Workout:
15 min. cardio (bike, about 140 watt / 120 rpm on a medium resistance)
squats (3 sets of 20)
lunges (3 sets of 20 on each leg)
push-ups (2 sets of 10)
tricep dips with chair (1 set of 10 … my arms are super weak still)
regular crunches (2 sets of 30)
side crunches with leg lifts (2 sets of 30 on each side)
10 min. cardio (bike, intervalls)

Even though its only about a 35-40 minute work-out, if you really push yourself on every single exercise it can make a difference. I usually also lift weights but currently I only have my grandparent’s basement, a stationary bike and some stairs to work with. But as you can see, no fancy gym neccessary for a good work-out.
Off to the shower now :)

I'm a Professional Martial Arts and yoga instructor. So I workout everyday, but I understand how hard it can be to stay motivated! What helps me is just remembering it's good for my health. And then I stay motivated and of course if you do, you're going to look good too ;) You look great!!!

working out is fun once you get into the swing of. but to gain the motivation is difficult. i'm trying to jump back on the saddle, too.

sometimes home gyms are the best kind. and they are free!

You're not the biggest slacker, I AM!! I hate working out with a passion. Yes, I'll do it, but if the couch calls my name louder than the gym, guess where you'll find me?? ;-)

  14. Anja says:

Wow, my gym loves me – I just pay every month and never show up…seriously – I need to go sooo bad. I don't even know what month I went last…It's wrong and embarrassing… :))
