staying fit.

It’s been a while since I’ve talked about workout routines or healthy meals on the blog. Quite frankly the reason for that being that my gym has definitely not seen enough of me lately and dessert has been ordered a few too many times. Well, now that my partner in crime, Sophie, is back in Vienna after the summer break there are no more excuses to be slacking.

I am determined to get back to my old healthy self in the next few weeks. Maybe some of you feel the same way and that’s why I thought I would share some of the things on my to-do list.

If you guys like posts like this, I’d be happy to share some of my workout routines, favorite music for motivation or more healthy meals. I am by no means an expert in the department, but I always love hearing what works for others. Just let me know in the comments. Also, I’d love to hear what you guys do to stay active and healthy!!

    Ui, will print this out and stick this to my fridge. Because… I feel the same/have the same reasons. When I am back from Florida at the end of October I want to start getting back into a routine and into shape :) Seeing my gym deduct money from my account every month hurts too much, too. Especially when I am not using it…
    I love the point about getting up before 8am. That is so true! As I have school/work every day I would have to do that anyway so I hope I will be able to stick to it!

    haha I just had the same feeling this morning that my gym hasn’t seen me in way to long. my break ends next week and then I am back there on a regular basis I feel horrible. the bad thing is that you loose all your fittness way to fast…and now I am back at level zero

  6. I’m motivating myself to run almost everyday by signing up for races as often as possible… For now this strategy works quite good. But I would love to read more about your workout routines :-)

    YEs please! Would love more posts like this. Check out http://www.bodyrock.tv There are some hard core workouts on there for doing at home with minimal equipment :)

    lets get fucking chubby (but cool):
    sleep in as often as possible. dreams are my reality. plus: anything that happens before 2 pm isn’t worth getting up for anyways.
    skip the working out part and go to the restaurant directly to have some pizza. yum!
    the question is not weather you are bored or not, the question is: who cares?
    eat lots of fruits? jap, (as long as they are covered in chocolate.) and carbs? big time!
    substitute water for beer (or any alcohol of your preference) and stick to the minimum of 2 liters.

    Ich fange jetzt langsam wieder an… Ich spiele nebenher Fußball und wir hatten viele Spiele, auch unter der Woche. Da kann man leider kein Krafttraining machen… Aber ab nächster Woche soll mich mein Fitness-Studio auch wieder öfter sehen =)

    I love working out in the morning, but sometimes it is so HARD to get up when its DARK outside!!

    How do u stay motivated to work out in the AM? Sometimes I motivate myself with “prizes” but then I just end up buying myself things even if I do not make my fitness goals :)

    das erinnert mich stark ein mein fitspiration board auf pinterest. nachdem ich in den ferien einfach nur aus langeweile gegessen hab, tut mir die uni-zeit jetzt ganz gut ;) obwohl ich nicht so der sport-typ bin hab ich mich für einen pilateskurs angemeldet und vom fitnesstudio bin ich auch nicht mehr weit entfernt. bin also frisch motviert wie du :)

    I would love to see some specific workouts, particularly related to arm sculpting. I don’t really want super huge muscles, but do need to tone them a bit.

    Also, more power to you for being able to get up early! I just will never be a morning workout girl. The only time it happens is if I am running in a race and have to be there at a set time.

    This summer my best friend and I started our personal “Fitness challenge”. Whoever didn’t work out at least everey 3 days was the loser and had to cook a delicious dinner for the other one. We stayed active for about 2 month and it really made a difference.

    ahhhhh,working out and getting fit is such a good thing to do for yourself but I’m such a lazy a**…..I’d rather sleep in instead.I tried really hard last year but it all gets so boring!!!!! I tried listening to my ipod but THEN I wanted to sing along to every song, so I couldn’t breathe right….

    i love pilates, it’s so convenient because you don’t need any equipment, you don’t rely on the weather and you can do it at home. it takes a while before you do the exercises without having a major muscle ache for DAYS after, but you really feel the results quickly – and i’m sure they’ll be visible soon, too =)

    I myself really slacked over the summer! I had way too many cocktails & then large meals so I put on about 7lbs!!! I bought a new scale & saw that, cried & then worked out for an hour and a half! For the past 2 weeks (Going on 3 today) I have limited my carbs, cut portions, eating lots if fruit & veggies & workout 4 days a week for an hour! I have one cheat day, I don’t eat crap the whole day but I allow myself a glass or two of wine or I’ll have a hamburger! So far I’m down 5lbs!!! I’m so excited & motivated that i want to drop 10 more! So I wish u luck, I know you’ll kick butt at it lol!

    Ich schließe mich den anderen an und würde auch sehr gern mehr Posts dieser Art lesen. Auch gerne über die Musik, die du gern dabei hörst! :)

    Um fit zu bleiben jogge und schwimme ich 3 mal wöchentlich. Zusätzlich mache ich Yoga an der Uni. Das tut mir gut und gleichzeitig überbrücke ich damit zu lange Freistunden zwischen den Vorlesungen :)

    Mit der Motivation klappt es am besten wenn ich verschiedene Sportarten ausübe da mir z. B. ein monotones Workout im Fitnessstudio auf lange Sicht zu langweilig wird.

    Hi Vicky, ich freue mich jedes Mal, wenn du über gesunde Ernährung und Fitness berichtest! Wie schaffst du es eigentlich diszipliniert zu sein? Ich nehme mir jedes Mal vor zu joggen, aber dann wiederum denke ich mir wie soll ich anfangen etc. Wäre toll, wenn du öfters darüber postest ;-)
