Last Monday I had the pleasure of joining a few fellow bloggers here in Vienna for a lovely breakfast at the Meierei im Stadtpark, hosted by Origins. The purpose of our yummy get-together was the presentation of the new “Make A Difference PLUS +” moisturizer. I waited until now with this post because I’ve been testing the product for the past week and wanted to share my first impression with you guys after using it twice daily for 6 days.
The moisturizer comes in 3 different “intensities”: a regular moisturizer, an ultra-rich version and an oil-free treatment. As some of you may know from previous posts, I have super sensitive skin. I’ve had eczema all my life and have always had very dry skin. However, most intense and rich creams don’t work for me because they feel like they clog up my skin and make it extra itchy because it can’t breath. Over the past 3 years I have discovered that oil-free, hydro-based products work best for me (last mentioned HERE). So naturally when the lovely ladies of Origins let us each have one of the new “Make A Difference PLUS+” moisturizers, I picked the oil-free “rejuvenating treatment” for my skin.
I love my Kiehl’s ultra facial (oil-free) moisturizer – especially during the summer beacuse it is the perfect amount of moisture and feels light and cooling on my skin. But as the temperatures are dropping and heating-season is starting I have felt that my skin wasn’t getting enough moisture. So this slightly “heavier” moisturizer by Origins has actually worked VERY well this past week. It smells very fresh and “clean” and has a gel-like consistency, like most oil-free moisturizers. During the first 3 days I was breaking-out a bit (which I feel is normal any time you switch products) but after that my skin has really turned around and even the super dry areas around my nose and eyes are soft and well moisturized! Obviously 6 days is a pretty short period to really have an opinion about a product, but so far I am more than happy and will continue using the moisturizer for sure.
Do any of you use products by Origins? I know my grandma swears by their ginger body scrub, but other than that this has been my first “Origins experience” :) Are there any products you can recommend for me to try?
PS. The Meierei im Stadpark is an amazing place to have breakfast! It was my first time there but certainly won’t be my last!! They are known for their delicious dairy and if you like cheese, this is definitely the place to go. Plus, the location in the middle of the park is so calming and perfect for a lazy breakfast on the weekend!!
