not just mixed greens.

Its been a while since I have talked about health and fitness. Not because I lost intrest but simply because it would be contradicting to post about salads and exercise during the holidays! While the last 3 weeks have been full of over-induldging, it is definitely time to get back to our New Years resolutions. And I am actually excited!!!

Yesterday I started the week with a healthy salad for lunch (slept too long so I skipped breakfast, oops!) and went to the gym with Soph for a much needed workout in the afternoon. 50 minutes on the treadmill, followed by 200 crunches and the world was a much better place :) I felt so good and finished the night with some shrimp and vegetables from the wok.

I read somewhere that making precise New Years resolutions is the key to actually sticking to them. So instead of wanting to lose weight or aiming to workout more, make descriptive resolutions. Such as: I want to lose 3kg over the next 6 months and keep them off while going to the gym at least 3x a week. Be realistic with your resolutions. Working out for 2 hours everyday just isn’t going to happen (at least not for me), just like losing 10kg in 2 months probably isnt a smart idea.

Anyway, enough with the words, here is a look at yesterday’s lunch:

{quarter 4 cherry tomatos, slice 2 radishes and 1/2 avocado}

{grill some diced zucchini and sliced spring onion}

{arrange vegetables over mixed greens, top with crumbled feta cheese and serve with a light balsamic dressing}

  4. This looks very, very delicious! I love wok vegetables a lot, because they keep their taste and are so fresh! I often add pineapple and peas and a bit of soy sauce.
    And it`s true what you said about specific and realistic resolutions. These are key for making things happen. Also you might not make resolutions like: I should loose 10 pounds or I want to do more sports, but have goals (kind of like you said – specific). Stating, for example: I will loose 3 pounds by March, 1st and will go to the gym at least 20 times until then. – I think that “Lululemon” (the sports wear brand from the US, which by the way is really gorgeous and great quality!) has some great tips on how to make goals especially in the long term, if you browse their blog, there are some really interesting entries!
    Anyways, I actually just wanted to say that your meal looked really delicious!!

      I love that you brought up Lululemon :) My best friend, Alex actually works at their Beverly Hills location. I love the way of working and their lifestyle there! So positive and very inspring! Aaaand I adore their stuff, I have 2 pairs of running shorts & a tank to go with them <3

      • I really want to go shopping at Lululemon. I lived in the States for a few years but only really got into exercising after we moved back to Europe, so now I can`t try them and have only seen them few times. But next time I go there, I will definitely stock up!

    Letzte Woche war ich 4mla im Fitness Studio, es fühlt sich sooo gut an =) aber diese Woche fängt das Fußball Training wieder an, mal sehen wie wir da gequält werden ;) Meist habe ich dann nicht so die Motivation neben 3 bis 4mal Training und Spiel noch ins Fitness Studio zu gehen…

    ich hab da mal eine frage an dich! welches fitness-center in wien würdest du empfehlen? ich bin erst vor kurzem hergezogen und auf der suche nach einem halbwegs leitbarem.

    und als landei noch eine eher ungewöhnliche frage: was hast du an wenn du ins fitness studio gehst? bin bis jetzt immer mit dem auto hin, da wars egal ob ich schon mein trainingsgewand anhatte… aber in wien muss ich jetzt öffentlich fahren

    You are so right with making precise New Years resolutions! I started doing a nice little 15 min work-out every morning and now for 12 days I`m still sticking to it! ;)
