New Year’s Eve in Vancouver.
After 3 days away from the laptop, I thought I’d kick off the new week with a few impressions of what I’ve been up to. A week ago, I left for Vancouver. My 3rd time in Vancouver. However, due to the fact that Mike has family that live on the outskirts of the city, we’ve usually just spent lots of time with them, rather than exploring downtown Vancouver. This time around, we wanted to do things a bit differently – especially because we were spending New Year’s Eve in Vancouver. That’s why we checked into the Fairmont Waterfront on the 31st (hotel review coming up later this week) to ring in twenty sixteen and to spend some time downtown. Vancouver is such a great city with really great food, lots of cute cafés, boutiques and much more! The fact that it is located on the water doesn’t hurt either – such an amazing scenery. We spent the 2 days having lazy breakfasts (I can highly recommend Tuc Craft Kitchen & Chambar), wandering around Gastown, doing a bit of shopping and sitting by the window of our room at the Fairmont to drool over the stunning view. The two days flew by way too fast though, which is why we’ve decided that from now on – no matter what time of the year we visit Vancouver – we’ll check into a hotel for 2-3 days to really get to experience the city!
Have any of you been to Vancouver? Did you like it as much as I did?
