Plans for the weekend

Hey Friday, you look mighty fine today! There are plenty of reasons to get excited about Fridays, but today our flight to Ibiza is reason N°1 on my list. On the quiet, Mike turned 30 this week. And while we kept things super laid-back on the actual birthday with a lunch that involved just the two of us and our favorite Italian food followed by a family dinner at night, we are off to spend the next few days celebrating on the island with a big group of friends. Is it bad that I almost feel like it is my birthday as well?

Ibiza is a seriously happy place for us and the thought of spending a couple of days in the sun with some of our closest friends is hard to beat. So what are our plans for the weekend? Aside from the obligatory visit to the beach clubs, great food and possibly a bit of partying, we rented a boat for Sunday to cruise over to Formentera, have lunch on the beach and work on our tans.

Cotton Boats, Ibiza Boat Rental | Bikinis & Passports

Travel Tip: If you are ever looking for a great Ibiza boat rental, be sure to check out Cotton Boats. We rented through them for Kathi’s bachelorette party and the afternoon on the boat was everyone’s highlight of the trip. That’s why we decided to do the same again for Mike’s 30th, only this time we are making it an entire day trip to Formentera. Can’t wait!

Cotton Boats is part of Cotton Beach Club, which is a must for every Ibiza trip. The view over the turquoise water at Cala Tarida is simply stunning, the food is great and if you get lucky there is a live saxophone player to play along to lounge house beats.

What else?

Some of my most treasured spots on the island include Experimental Beach for a sundowner and dinner (best quality for money, if you ask me), Blue Marlin beach club on Sundays, Las Salinas for crystal clear water (then again, you get that on most beaches around the island), Sluiz for interior shopping (want everything!!) and Cotton Beach Club for the best sangria con cava you’ve ever had (don’t drive there, you’ll want a second round).

PS. don’t forget to order pimentos de patron everywhere you go!
