Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas.

I can’t believe it has already been 4 weeks since I’ve spent my afternoons in the hammocks by the white beach of the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas. When it comes to my travel bucket list, there are certain items on the list that are destinations in general, while others are specific hotels. The Park Hyatt in Abu Dhabi was part of the latter. Ever since our first visit to Saadiyat Island last year, I started doing research for hotels on the island. The Park Hyatt clearly came in first place, so I had been dreaming about staying there for over a year. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of amazing hotels in Abu Dhabi and I sincerely loved every single one of our trips to the UAE. However, the Park Hyatt simply takes it to another level. Why? I’ll tell you in today’s hotel review about the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotel and Villas.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THE HOTEL:

  • I still remember how disappointed I was with the beach when we visited Dubai 4 years ago. I had imagined it to be so much more. Luckily, during our second visit to the UAE, we discovered Saadiyat Island and I realized Abu Dhabi had all the pretty beaches. When you love white sand and turquoise water as much as I do, the beach at the Park Hyatt is a dream come true!
  • We stayed at the hotel from late Thursday until super late Saturday and it feels like we pretty much hopped from one meal to the next. The culinary options are amazing and I now understand why so many locals spend their weekends brunching at The Beach House and having dinner and drinks at Park Grill. Every single meal we had was fantastic. The hotel’s breakfast buffet is huge, the brunch menu (weekends only) at the Beach House mouth-watering and the view even better. For our last night, we had the perfect steak dinner at Park Grill. We sat outside, had oysters to start with and enjoyed a beautiful meal. The steaks and sides were so incredible that we didn’t even want to have dessert after – that’s a first!
  • The hotel’s spa is one to know in the Abu Dhabi area. During our visit, we actually also saw a lot of people come in that weren’t guests at the hotel. So I think that speaks for itself. Also, in the UAE male and female treatment facilities are usually strictly separated. However, the Park Hyatt offers a stunning couples treatment room, which we got to try out. Not only is the modern design absolutely beautiful, but it was also nice to enjoy the massage side-by-side. I don’t think I have to mention how amazing their signature massages were…
  • Even though I love kids, I am kind of picky when it comes to pool time paired with kids. I totally understand that kids love to play and jump into the water, but during my holidays I also love to nap and relax by the pool. That’s why I was so in love with the fact that the main pool at the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi is for adults only. Plus, their cabana sunbeds can be used by all guest at no extra charge. Such a positive surprise as most other hotels usually charge horrendous amounts for those! It’s the little things that leave the longest lasting impression, right?
  • Last but not least, I am a huge fan of the hotels choice of interior. In the Emirates, most luxury hotels come with the Arabic take on luxury. Meaning: too much. The cleaner, modern design of the Park Hyatt felt fitting for the region while not overdoing it. I loved the dark color palette paired with water and candles in the lobby!

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:

  • Honestly, I love it when the only thing I can complain about with a hotel is the hair dryer. It means that the stay was so perfect that I had to go an pick on the poor hair dryer. However, after a week of salt water hair and natural waves, I wanted to get ready for a night out at Zuma at the Park Hyatt. In theory, the dryer wouldn’t have been bad, if only the cord wasn’t permanently attached to the wall, forcing me to dry my hair half bent over. Plus, it was one of those dryers that you can’t simply turn on but have to hold the button the entire time. So if I could change one thing about the hotel, it would be to step up their hair dryer game.

We have to admit that most of the times our next destination is decided by the hotel we want to stay in!

Such beautiful photos and I loved your snaps!
Hotels and their hairdryers..will they ever get it? I don’t think I’ve ever been to a hotel with a good, normal hairdryer. You’ve already travelled more than I did so I’m curious, have you ever stayed at a hotel with a good hairdryer? Luckily this was the only thing and everything else was great! I really like the interior, so luxurious but not too much like you said. Seems like an amazing hotel, let’s add it to the list 😉
