homemade granola.

A few days ago I posted a picture of my breakfast on my Facebook page … greek yogurt, fresh strawberries and homemade granola. Some of you asked for the recipe, so I thought I would share it with you. Granola is one of those things I absolutely love and it’s such a great source of energy for breakfast or snacking. BUT lots of the store-bought kinds have way too much sugar in it and can quickly turn into a calorie bomb!! Ever since Mike’s mom gave me her recipe for the homemade granola I’ve been making a batch once a week. It’s super easy and tastes soo yummy!

250 gr. mixed cereal

**(mine has rolled oats, spelt, wheat, rye and sunflower seeds)

70 gr. almond slices

40 gr. coconut chips

some sesame if you like

1 tablesp. ground tigernuts

**(this isn’t in the recipe but it adds a great natural sweetness)

80 gr. honey

**(and some brown sugar if you like)

40 ml. sunflower or sesame oil

1) mix everything in a bowl

2) spread the sticky mixture on a baking sheet

3) bake for about 20 – 25 min. on 130°C until golden brown

4) mix occasionally so it doesn’t get stuck to the baking sheet and everything gets equally roasted

5) let it cool on the baking sheet

6) add rasins or dried fruit if you like, keep in a sealed glass jar (so it stays crunchy)

et voilà, super easy and absolutely delicious!!

Wishing you all a healthy & happy Sunday :)
