The Classic Driver

Here’s the deal: While I preach about all these alternatives to wearing black during Winter and am constantly looking for lighter colors to keep me warm, fact is that nothing is quite as easy (and timeless) like an all black ensemble. But how do you take a somber monochrome look from bland to grand? With a few key pieces for Winter 2018/2019 to steal the show (and keep you warm at the same time).

Roeckl Driver Gloves: all black winte routfit - Bikinis & Passports

Key Pieces Winter 2018/2019

  • The Oversized Puffer Jacket: The bigger, the better. The warmer, the better. Combine the two and you’ve got yourself a blanket with sleeves that is a sure eye-catcher.
  • The Classic Driver Gloves: When the temperatures drop below freezing, there is no way around gloves. Luckily, there are a few options that will keep your fingers warm while looking the part. My personal favorite is a pair of classic driver gloves by Roeckl. With more than 175 years of tradition, Roeckl is known for their accessories like leather gloves, bags, silk scarves, knit pieces and hats. I have owned various pairs of their gloves throughout the years and it is definitely the first brand that I think of when it comes to timeless, yet stylish gloves. In the past, I have owned simple black gloves with a super soft cashmere lining, but this year I updated my Winter key pieces with the classic driver gloves. They combine a stunning dark brown and timeless black leather and the cut-outs make the gloves more of a statement piece than necessity.
  • Adorned Turtlenecks & Statement Knitwear: A simple black turtleneck is an easy find, but a little glam goes a long way, so I love added on pearls along the cuffs or a giant brooch to steal the show. If you prefer to keep things simple, go for a turtleneck with a giant neck, honeycomb cable stich or extra long sleeves to peek out from underneath the jacket.
