VIENNA: Fashion For Europe with Coca-Cola

Sometimes, it amazes me how great of a city Vienna truly is. Not only is it a beautiful place to call home (I adore living here), but also a worldly city that hosts some amazing, international events. Last weekend, the famous Lifeball – one of the most amazing charity events out there – was celebrated, and this week we are getting ready for the Eurovision Song Contest. The week has lots of highlights leading up to the big show on Saturday, and yesterday I got to see the #FashionForEurope show with Coca-Cola. The young designer Joël Macher from the Fashion Institute at Herbststraße had the honor of designing some incredibly creative dresses for Coca-Cola, which the presenting girls at last nights show wore. Joël won a contest to design the exclusive dresses and each dress was an ode to the original coke bottle, which is currently celebrating it’s 100th anniversary. I loved how flow-y and delicate they were and how each dress embodied the Coca-Cola bottle in a unique and subtle way – I simply had to share some images from last night with you!

OUTFIT: a night at the Opera

Some experiences are simply #bucketlist worthy. Whether or not you live in Vienna, the Opera Ball is definitely one of those things. Every year, I’ve followed along on TV, but always imagined what I would be like to actually be there. Well, this year I got to experience the ball. Naturally, one of the most important things for the night was finding the perfect dress. Back in December I already shared a little preview, and today I can finally show you the entire look, shot with the stunning Opera in the background! Since so many of you asked: I found the dress at Peek & Cloppenburg and it is by the Jora Collection. The selection of dresses at the cocktail departments of both P&C stores here in Vienna is amazing, and I actually had a hard time choosing just one dress… But once I put on the peachy nude dress with the embellished body, it was love at first sight. Timeless and elegant, just the right amount of sparkle and an almost perfect fit (I had it altered just a little around the waist and the length adjusted to my heels).

EVENT: #SeminakedInRed

SAVE THE DATE

To celebrate the end the season, Desigual has put together another round of their legendary “seminaked” party – this time under the motto of #SeminakedInRed and right here in Vienna! Lots of red, but just a tiny bit of fabric!

The Spanish fashion label Desigual will be giving away 100 outfits just after Christmas, and team TDD (aka Kathi and myself) will be there to join the fun and celebrate with you guys. If you feel like a new outfit – for free, of course – be sure to show up at the Desigual store on Mariahilfestrasse 57-59 here in Vienna on December 27th at 9am (or better yet, 8:30am to make sure you’re part of the first 100). The clue: You have to show up in as little fabric as possible (aka bikinis, underwear, … you get the point) and LOTS of red accessories. We’ll be ready for you & can’t wait to see some of you in person!

BEAUTY TALK: Les Parfums by FREYWILLE

One of the things I love most about being a blogger, is being able to discover new products, services or places and then getting to share them with you guys. Yesterday, I spent the morning with FREYWILLE at their boutique (Stephansplatz 5, 1010 Vienna) to find out a bit more about their 4 new “Les Parfums”. As you guys know, I have a fairly picky nose when it comes to perfumes, but yesterday’s experience wasn’t just perfume – it was so many beautiful scents that came together to form a feminine accessory, that – just like jewelry – is an extension of our personal style and taste. Unlike other perfumes, the four ‚Eaux des Parfum‘ by FREYWILLE (which btw took 3 years of careful research and expert development) made me feel like I was sticking my nose into a bag filled with real items. I was able to actually smell that mandarin, green tea, rose or iris. It is hard to describe in words, but it felt much more “real” and less perfume that what I am used to. Not to mention the absolutely perfect packaging with the black bow! I kind of want a bottle just to display on my coffee table next to my candles and fresh flowers!
My personal favorite? For sure the SPHINX Magique with a hint of fresh citrus, and being the lightest of the four. Surprisingly, however, I was also drawn to the SPHINX Rose, where I could sense the rose, but also something warm like vanilla and something woody like amber.
