PART II.

Thank you all SO much for your lovely comments on the last post. I passed my exam!!! :) SO HAPPY!

Anyways, I have part 2 of my Q&A for you. I was a little confused at times and am sorry if I answered your question wrong .. or something you didn’t intend to ask :) Since obviously this isn’t like my exam today and there are no wrong answers. Hope you guys enjoy these and part 3 is coming up next Monday.

  1. Are (were) you on vacation with your boyfriend and family?

    → Yes, we were all on vacation together in Laguna Beach over easter.

  1. How long have you and your boyfriend been together? When did you move in together?

    → we’ve been dating for almost 5 years and living together for 3.

  1. Approx. what do you eat each day?

    → I am not a big breakfast person … usually just coffee is all I need. If I wake up later I’ll have some oatmeal with strawberries or fresh fruit, granola and non-fat plain yogurt. For lunch I usually eat whatever but I am definitely not a big fan of fastfood. For dinner I love salads with lots of toppings like chicken, beetroot, mushrooms, … I try to stay away from too many carbs at night other than potatos, which I believe are really good for you. For snacks I like fruit, almonds or smoothies / protein shakes.

  1. How come you lived in America? Why are you in Vienna now? Where do you like it better?

    → We lived in America because of my dad’s work. Which is also why we moved back to Austria. I live in Vienna now because I go to college here. It’s hard to say where I like it better. A big piece of my heart is still in California but I have also grown to love Vienna!!

  1. What’s your favorite color?

    → it’s funny because I never really had a favorite color. Right now I really love coral and peachy pinks but probably only because it’s everywhere this season :)

  1. Where do you buy your nail polish? Do you think they are available to order online?

    → I get all my OPI polishes from Planet Beauty in Laguna Niguel but I’m sure you can order them online. I know a few of my friends here in Vienna order them and have been very happy with the process. Check out this website: http://www.mbeautylounge.com/

  1. Have you planned your summer vacation yet? If so, where will you go?

    → It’s not really a vacation but I do have BIG plans :) I just finalized everything this week and if you follow me on Twitter you already know what I’m talking about. I’ll do a seperate post on that next week.

{a little hint of where I’m going}
  1. What’s your favorite store in Austria?

    → I am a big fan of Zara :)

  1. How would you describe your „perfect weekend“?

    → sleeping in, yummy food, a little d.i.y. project, laying in the sun at a park and watching movies while munching on popcorn :)

  1. Which stars would you like to meet?

    → I have never really been too crazy about stars but I definitely think it would be fun to hang out with some of the Victoria’s Secret Angels for a day :)

  1. Which charms do you have on your Pandora Bracelet?

    → see picture :)

  1. What’s your favorite scent? (I’m guessing this was meant towards my perfume?!)

    → currently I’m usuing „Sun“ by Jil Sander and whenever I’m not using that I use „I love LOVE“ by Moschino. Those have been my favorites for almost 10 years :)

  1. Why didn’t you become a photographer if you like taking pictures so much?

    → because taking pictures is something I like doing for myself and my blog. But for a career I definitely have other interests :) Also, I have literally NO clue how to work with photoshop … which is a big part of every photographers life!

  1. What’s your favorite song at the moment?

    → hmm .. I’m soo bad at picking favorite things! I just find too many things intersting, pretty or fun to decide on one. One of my longtime favorite songs is Hometown Glory by Adele, the original version for during the day and the Axwell remix for working out or partying :)

  1. Do you have a tattoo or piercing?

    → Nope :) I have the top of my left ear pierced with a tiny diamond studd, but I’m not sure if that even counts as a piercing.

  1. What do you think you can do but you can’t?

    → So sorry, but I don’t get this question?! I saw the same exact one on Cath’s blog and was totally confused by it then, and am totally confused by it now :) Maybe what I wish I could do?! Be more productive at times and don’t always procrastinate until the last second!!

  1. What’s a difficult word for you to pronounce?

    → I seriously can’t think of one right now. But I’m sure there are a few :)

  2. What’s a favorite TV show from your childhood?

    → I loooved Sailor Moon hahaha.

  1. What are your virtues and vices?

    → virtues: probably the ability to see something positive in almost everyone and every situation I am put into. With having moved so many times and traveled to many places, I’ve learned to try and embrace new things and make the best of them.

    → vices: sometimes being a little naive, having a hard time being on time :) I’m usually always 2 minutes late, and spending too much time on things that might not be a top priority. Like I said, I am majorly good at procrastination :)

  1. What’s more important: love, fame, power, or money?

    → obviously love!! And I know almost everyone would say the same thing but I honestly KNOW love is the most important. i.e. When you are put into the situation of moving to a new country and leaving all your friends behind, you’ll learn that it really doesn’t matter how big your house is or what you wear but rather that you are surrounded by your family and loved ones.

{friends, family & love!!}

PS. I’ll be updating my Etsy Store tonight and the next couple of days, now that I have time again :) Lots of pretty bracelets coming up!!

PART I.

Since you guys did a pretty good job with asking questions and I was kind of overwhelmed by all of them I decided to split it up into 3 seperate posts. So for the next 3 weeks on Monday’s I will be posting my answers. I translated all of the questions to English so all of you could understand. Happy reading :)
What do you study?
→ I study communications at the University of Vienna (graduating in June) and business as my second major at the Business School of Vienna.

What was it like moving to Laguna for a few years?
→ Simply said: AMAZING!! It was the most amazing time for my family and I made so many great friends. Not to mention the weather and the beach :)

What do you do to stay in shape? Do you have tips for losing weight? How do you stay fit, any exercise tips? (**I will do a detailed post on this soon!!)

→ I honestly am not an expert at all. I work out 5-6 times a week, alternating between the gym and running (5-6km). I try to eat healthy but at the same time I dont deprive myself of anything. You guys can also check out an example of my workouts HERE and HERE.

{hikes are a fun way to work out … Runyon Canyon in L.A.}

How long have you and your BF been together? How did you meet? Any wedding bells in the future?

→ we’ve been together for almost 5 years :) and we met at school … and around town! And no, definitely no wedding bells in the near future! We are super happy with the way things are right now and living together has been such a fun time. We are way too young to be thinking about marriage!!

Whats your favorite item of clothing?

→ ohh that’s a hard one. I try to only buy things I really, really love. At the moment I really am in love with my crochet vests and my high-rise shorts from H&M.

{my favorite shorts at the moment}

Do you plan on going back (to the United States) or are you happier in Austria?

→ if I could, I would move back tomorrow!! California was definitely one of the happiest times in my life. Obviously I am also very happy in Vienna and with my boyfriend but I am such a summer-person, and I love the positive attitude of the people in Southern California.

In which district of Vienna do you live?

→ the 9th. The best one in my opinion!! I love living here and have never felt unsafe or weird walking the streets. Of course the 1st district is beautiful but being a college student I think the 9th district is the perfect place to live.

 How did you meet your best friend and why is she your best friend?

→ I have a few friends that I consider to be my best friends. I think it’s different reasons for each of my friends because I value different things in them, so I cant really name a reason why :)

Would you want to meet your readers in Vienna? Maybe even with other bloggers from Vienna / Austria?

→ Sure, I would love to meet some of my readers :) I really can’t speak for any of the other bloggers but I know we always love getting together for breakfast or cocktails!!

How do you take your pictures? Does someone take them or do you have a tripod? Which camera do you use?

→ both :) If I can find someone (ie. boyfriend, sister, best friend, other bloggies) to take my picture I love that. If not I am left with my tripod :) I use a Canon rebel t2i (550D) with an 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens.

How tall are you?

→ 173cm or 5’8“

At what weight do you feel most comfortable?

→ I honestly feel bad even saying this but I don’t think I have ever felt 100% comfortable. Just like any girl I am never completely happy with my body. BUT I don’t have a problem with it either. Most comfortable is probably between 57 and 58kg … which I had in Feb. after being sick :) Anywhere around 60kg is usually fine tho.

{here I am in February when I weighed 57kg}

Where is your grey tank-top you’re wearing in this post from?

→ It was kindly sent to me by Marc Paul. The basic top is from American Appareland the print was done by Marc Paul.

5 countries you would like to visit but haven’t yet?

→ Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, Sweden, Maledive Islands

Whats 5 fashion essentials for your style?

→ long, flowy tops – blazers – scarves – wrap bracelets (my newest love) – my long hair :)

What do you use for skincare?

→ My skin is super sensitive so I try to keep it to a minimum. I wash my face with water or bath & body works soap, use a Nivea make-up remover for around the eyes and a bodyshop moisturizer (for men haha) with maca roots for sensitive skin. For lips I swear by Kiehl’s #1 Lip Balm!!

Do you have any favorite food blogs, since you like to cook/bake?

→ Yess :) I love Oh! Cupcakes & Delightful Bitefuls. Also, lots of my favorite blogs will post recipes now and then which I usually love!!

{Delightful Bitefuls}

What interests you more: music or art?

→ probably art in all forms. I love making things and being creative :) But I definitely couldn’t live without music!

Do you play sports? If so, which?

→ I don’t really do any sports. I love running and going to the gym.

{outdoor runs, hikes and beachwalks are my favorite workouts}

Tips for make-up in the summer?

→ especially in the summer I don’t like wearing too much make-up. I use MAC mineralize skinfinish as a light cover, some bronzer or blush and waterproof mascara. And like every other day I also apply lip balm with SPF 15. You can have a look at my daily make-up routine HERE. Instead of the Egyptian Wonder, which I dropped :( I now use a Too Faced bronzer (“snow bunny”).

If I didn’t answer your question this week, be sure to check back next Monday!!

questions …

I have honestly been sooo bad about answering questions sent by mail or asked in the comments sections. So I thought I would dedicate this post to all those questions you guys have and then answer them all in a seperate post on the weekend :) So go ahead, ask away!!

31 | Categories: Q&A, Random

answers, part 2.

So here goes part 2 of the answers. If you have anymore questions, just keep them coming and I will be happy to do a part 3 soon. I have some fun posts planned for this week, including one about the month-long trip Sophie and I will be leaving on, 3 weeks from Friday.
On another note, I got my hair done today. (FINALLY, it’s been 6 months since my last visit to the hair-dresser…YUCK!!) To be honest, I am such a baby about my hair. I only had it cut about 2-3 inches (5-6cm) but it feels super short and weird. To me the bottom looks totally chopped of and I think it may take some getting used to. I’m sure you can’t even see a difference but I get super weird about it. By the way, does anyone else HATE the way the hairdresser blow-dries your hair?! She always makes my layers curl into my face, rather than flipping them out…makes my face look rounder than it already is. Anywaysss, enough with the whining :) I am acutally really happy I got it cut and colored, ready for summer and nice and healthy again.
“new” hair.

  1. Is your hair color natural?
    yes and no :) I do have my hair dyed but pretty close to my natural color. I just want it to look more shiny and not as dull so I get a slightly more red-ish color than my natural hair with highlights 2 shades lighter underneath.
  2. How old are you?
    21. People usually guess anything from 19 to 24.
  3. Where do you mostly buy your clothes?
    wayyy too much Zara going on in my closet! For some reason I always end up finding something I like there but I do enjoy buying special pieces at other places and shopping online (Asos, NewLook, Topshop,…) Whenever I’m in California, I love going to all the little boutiques in Laguna Beach like the LF store, Muse, … However, Nordstrom is also a big favorite and of course Forever 21. I think the list could go on and on :)
  4. How tall are you?
    172cm, not really the tallest (wish I had about 3-5cm extra) but I can live with it.
  5. Whats your job? (if you have one)
    Ever since I got out of high school I have worked. I enjoy making my own money and being able to spend it on whatever I like, even if it is another unnecessary pair of shoes :) I currently work at an italian restaurant as a waitress. For sure not what I want to to my entire life but college is my first priority at the moment and the work schedule works out great with my classes. Every once in a while I work in different promotion jobs and I have recently also worked the guest-list at a clubbing.
  6. What countries have you lived in?
    Germany, USA and Austria.
  7. Whats your favorite blog?
    There are too many great ones in order to pick a favorite but my daily reads definitely include Stylescrapbook, The Blonde Salad, afterDRK, Sabo Skirt, Gypsy*Diaries, The Vogue Diaries, Sterling Style and many many more!! On the left side of my blog, there is a list of all the ones I adore.
  8. What kind of music do you like?
    Everything!! Seriously, I could never pick a single genre or band as my favorite. Depending on my mood I love anything from John Lennon to The Killers or A Fine Frenzy to David Guetta or Axwell. I have serious issues picking favorite things :)
  9. Are you a model?
    Ohh my goodness, NO! You guys are totally sweet for asking this question, and even though it is very flattering, I have no idea where you would get that from.
  1. Do you exercise a lot? If so, what sport?
    I actually do exercise a lot. Unlike most other bloggers, I am not blessed with a model-like body and have to work pretty hard to stay semi-in-shape. I work out about 6-7 times a week, half being cardio, the other half weights and strengthening. For the cardio-days I run for at least 30 minutes and up to an hour and 15 minutes (about 7miles or 11km), depending on my mood. For the weight-days I go to the gym and do things like leg-press, squats, crunches, different exercises for my arms (usually with 10lb. Weights, 3 sets of 15 reps), some biking to warm up (about 10-20 min.) and finish it of with 20-30 min. of cardio (treadmill or cross-trainer).
  2. Do you follow a diet or eat whatever you want?
    I don’t necessarily follow a strict diet, although I really enjoy eating healthy. I try to eat 3 good meals a day, lunch being the most and dinner being the lightest. My breakfast is either cooked oatmeal with fruit or fresh fruit, 1% yogurt and whole-wheat flakes. For lunch I basically eat whatever, if possible no fast-food tho. I try to keep my dinner very light, salad with chicken breast or some fresh vegetables and a slice of whole-wheat bread. However, don’t get me wrong, the occasional dessert, bbq or ice-cream is a must and I don’t believe in depriving myself of anything.
  1. Did you use to live in the US?
    Yes I did and I absolutely loved it. Due to my dads work my entire family moved to Laguna Niguel, California when I was 11. We lived there for 5 years and moved to Austria shortly before I turned 16. I still go back every year, my best friend in the world is from Dana Point and I hate being thousands of miles away from her. (Love you Alex!!!)
  2. How do you support your shopping habit?
    Ever since I graduated high school I have been working. I took a year off after graduating and worked full-time for 8 months. I saved up lots during that time. Since being at college I am a waitress at an italian restaurant and work other little jobs on the side. I am fortunate enough to have parents who are able to take care of my apartment, food and college fees for books and such, therefore whatever I make working part-time is mine to keep.

P.S. Yesterday I went on a beautiful hike with my parents. It’s funny how sometimes you forget to appreciate the beautiful things in life, that sit right in front of your nose. Now that I live in a bigger city and am home less, I am finally learning to see how breath-taking the area where my parents live really is.
the little hut (moosalm) we hiked up to and had lunch at.
with my dad and puppy.
Hope your weekend was as wonderful as mine. Lots of time with the family, late dinners in the backyard and plenty of hours in the sun.
