I feel that any time you come home after a long trip, you appreciate your surroundings a bit more than before you left. Personally, I love the feeling of the first breakfast back home, visiting your favorite flower shop again, grabbing coffee on a lazy Sunday and watching the sun set over a beautiful skyline, that we get to call home. Since we left early on the 26th of December, I didn’t really have any time to enjoy my wonderful presents right after Christmas – so when we came home this weekend I finally had time to really take everything in, get things situated in our apartment and enjoy my own personal bits of happiness. Some of you may remember THIS post from a few months back – well my dear friend Anna was super attentive and surprised me with the Tom Dixon candle for Christmas. I literally could not believe my eyes and am so thankful for friends that pay attention to the little things and know me so well. Also, “it” by Alexa Chung was on my Christmas wishlist this year and got to join my other coffee table books as a present from my grandma. I have yet to acutally read it, but from flipping through it it looks pretty good. Lastly, treat collection (a new nail polish brand from Berlin) spoiled me with 5 of their colors to kick off the new year. I love, love, LOVE “popsicle“, “drama queen” and “good thing” – now I just need to decide which one to try first! Hope you all had a great start to a fresh, new week & happy Monday!
A few weeks ago I mentioned that I wanted to make a few small changes for our living room. As you know I ADORE my patterned pillows, but for winter I wanted something a little less colorful and cozier. I didn’t really make any big changes, all I did was add a super soft sheep skin throw (found at IKEA) and 2 pillows in the prettiest off-white with a golden/silver touch (ordered via Westwing). I also exchanged some accessories and added my 2 new cute Jonathan Adler items. So, this is the current state of our living room and I am pretty happy with it. What do you guys think?
As you guys know, I have a major weakness for home decor and everything that goes along with it. We’re just finally settling in the new apartment (after a year) and I am already dreaming of completely starting over. Don’t get me wrong, I adore our home & the way it looks – but it is just so much fun to try something new every once in a while! For this winter, I decided to give the living room a small make-over. No big changes, just little accessories. As some of you may remember, I had quite a bit of color going on with a blue patterned rug, different shades of green for the pillows & a big fat strawberry hanging by the dining area. Well, for winter I thought it would be fun to include a bit more white, gold & silver.
Even though we’re pretty well on our way in terms of the apartment being completely decorated (I am actually sad that I don’t have an excuse to constantly browse the online stores for new items anymore …), there is still one major challenge that needs to be tackled: LAMPS!!
