A lot of you really seemed to like the recent fitness posts (ie. HERE and HERE) and so from now on I will try my best to post about fitness at least once a week. Just to repeat myself again: I am in no way an expert on the matter – it is simply a topic that interests me and therefore I wanted to share some of the things that have worked for me in the past.
Even though I have a gym membership and really love all the options a gym gives me, sometimes I just can’t get myself to leave the apartment on a rainy day. So I’ve mixed bits and pieces (mostly from the 100-workout) and have come up with a little routine that can easily be done at home and will most DEFINITELY leave you dripping in sweat. The best part? It only takes 30 minutes!!
All you need for the workout is a mat for the crunches, sit-ups and leg lifts (usually a towel or blanket will also do the trick – I use my yoga mat) and some motivating music. Try to take as little breaks inbetween the exercises and don’t rest for more than 30-45 seconds. Doing the exercises back-to-back really keeps your heart rate up!
To increase the intensity, I also like to add weights (2.5 or 5lbs) to some exercises such as the squats or sit-ups, but that is totally optional. And if you live by a park or good place to run it would be ideal to add a 10-20 minute jog after the strength training. That really gets the fat burning :)
PS. If you wanna mix it up, you can find some other great exercises that can simply be done with your own bodyweight HERE.
