My bestie in California is basically a work-a-holic. Selfish as I am I would have loved to spend every second of my 2 week stay with her. Since that wasn’t possible we made the most of the time together and had a seriously amazing 24 hours. One night we met for dinner at the AMAZING Beachcomber Café in Crystal Cove, right on the beach, for appetizers and champagne. I can highly recommend the baked bleu tomato soup, shrimp vera cruz (basically the best shrimp cocktail you will ever taste) and green goddess calamari. Especially nice was the Ahi Tuna on rice served with a wasabi and orange-marmelade dressing, compliments of the super nice manager.
at the Beachcomber Café, with a view of the breath-taking sunset.
After dinner we headed up to LA, got ready and saw a tennis match of the Farmers Classic Tennis Tournament at UCLA. Since it got a little cold in the stands we made our way over to the W Hotel in Westwood and had some delish mango-mint-mojitos at the bar. On our way home we decided to stop at O’Hara’s (a bar filled with UCLA students) and had some more fun, and drinks :)
The next morning we got up fairly early and went for a hike in the gorgeous Runyon Canyon with views over all of LA. After the hike we truely deserved a yummy breakfast at Urth Café in Santa Monica, my new favorite place for breakfast!!
Even though I only get to see Alex once a year it still feels like I am spending time with my sister and as if there was never any time inbetween my visits. A seriously wonderful day with a seriously wonderful girl!!
